Miryam Solomon: Women Make Music

Swedish born, by way of Eritrea – Miryam Solomon blends jazz and folk textures with African poly-rhythms, lyrical wit and a distinctive vocal style. A childhood hobby of writing short stories and tales influence her approach to song writing which is both intuitive and an exploration of that which does not fit neatly within categories.

She released her debut EP Evergreen in 2014 on Frizz Records and is now working on a new body of material which draws inspiration from feminist psychoanalysis, vocal improvisation, Ghanaian high life and dreams of Scandinavia.
