Rachel K Collier: Women Make Music

Rachel K Collier is an Artist/Producer from Swansea, Wales. Growing up singing and writing songs on the piano from a young age, she moved on to develop a serious interest in song arrangement and production, inventive vocal recording techniques and beat programming. A grade 8 pianist with a distinctive voice and innovative output, she studied Creative Music Technology (BMus) at the Royal Welsh college of Music & Drama.

Following her move to London in 2010 Rachel‘s Piano and Vocal arrangement of the Jimmy Cliff classic, Hard Road To Travel, for a Saatchi televised advertising campaign charted at number 79 in the UK Singles Chart. She then co-wrote and featured on UK Chart hit Boom Boom (Heartbeat) (2013), Wookie’s 2 Us and the single Only For You (2014) taken from Mat Zo’s Grammy-nominated album Damage Control.

Rachel is now highly focused on stepping out from the featured-artist shadow to show her true talents as an electro-pop solo performer, writer and producer. She released her first self produced EP Words You Never Heard (Mixmag 8/10) in October 2015 on independent electronic label Love and Other and has recently released Ships on her own label NIF Records, distributed by Kobalt.

The PRS for Music Foundation #womenmakemusic fund will be supporting Rachel’s debut UK tour, which will be a series of live electronic shows, accompanied by a PR and a marketing campaign.
