Short Project Title: Melody & Mind: Artist Development Programme (Yes U Can x PRS Foundation)
Bio: Yes U Can is a Belfast-based organisation supporting young people and emerging artists through music, creativity and community programmes. We focus on providing real access to opportunities, helping people develop skills in songwriting, performance and music production while building confidence and direction.Through workshops, mentoring and live showcases, we work closely with artists from diverse backgrounds, particularly those facing barriers to accessing the music industry. Our aim is to create pathways for long-term development and support the next generation of talent in Northern Ireland.
Programme Description: Melody & Mind is a year-long artist development programme supporting 18–20 emerging music creators in Northern Ireland. The programme combines workshops, mentoring and live performance opportunities, giving participants consistent support across songwriting, performance, collaboration and understanding the music industry. Artists take part in 12 workshops, mentoring sessions with experienced practitioners and three live showcases, helping them build confidence, develop their sound and gain real experience performing. The programme is delivered by a mix of working artists, managers and industry professionals, ensuring participants are learning from people actively building careers in music. Melody & Mind focuses on long-term development rather than quick outcomes, creating space for artists to grow at their own pace while building the skills, confidence and direction needed to progress in the music industry.
