Ynys Album Release
Ynys (Island) is the project of Dylan Hughes, ex-Race Horses and Radio Luxembourg.
As a live 5-piece band their ambitious sound palette combines melancholic harmonies over a soundtrack of 80’s sequencers, 70’s string machines, and fuzz guitars.
From Aberystwyth, on the west coast of Wales, Ynys released their Welsh Music Prize shortlisted debut album on Libertino Records in late 2022. An album of off-kilter catchy and melancholic psychedelic pop songs, the release generate glowing reviews across the likes of The Line of Best Fit, Brooklyn Vegan, and God Is In the TV, and live radio sessions for BBC 6 Music’s Marc Riley show, and Amazing Radio.
Work on a new album is underway and is planned for release in summer 2024. The PPL Momentum Accelerator fund will support a PR camaign for the album and Mixing/Mastering.
