International Showcase Fund Decision Making

All funding decisions are made by International Showcase Fund partners. For high-demand showcase events such as SXSW, a panel of independent music industry experts meets to select artists.

Demand is high throughout the year, with an average success rate of 20% which is greatly reduced for high-demand events such as SXSW or Eurosonic.

Decisions are made based on the criteria stated in our Guidance Pages. Those not previously supported through the International Showcase Fund will be prioritised.

If as an unsuccessful applicant you are unhappy with the funding decision and believe correct procedure has not been adhered to, please read the below Grievance Procedure. Please note, grievance must relate to procedure not to decisions made. Funding partner decisions are final.

Grievance Procedure

In the first instance, please outline your grievance by emailing PRS Foundation’s Senior Grants and Programmes Manager, Joe Frankland: joe@prsformusicfoundation.com.

Joseph will discuss your grievance with funding partners Department for International Trade, British Underground and Arts Council England and where appropriate will respond within 14 days.

If you feel this response does not meet your expectations, you can request a ‘Making A Complaint’ form from Joe Frankland. A completed form should be sent to Joe Frankland as well as to The Musicians’ Union’s  Assistant General Secretary, Horace Trubridge. As a non-voting/scoring partner, Horace is best placed to make an impartial and final decision on behalf of the International Showcase Fund partners based on the information provided by the applicant and PRS for Music Foundation. You will be informed of the outcome within 14 working days.

If a grievance is upheld, the applicant may apply for the same or a similar showcasing event. International Showcase Fund partners shall be liable to pay a maximum of the amount requested in the applicant’s original application.
