Guest of the Month July 2010: Gordon Audio Visual

Gordons (Gordon Audio Visual) is the Audio Visual sponsor for the PRS for Music Foundation New Music Award 2010.

Gordon Audio Visual (GAV, or Gordons as most people know it) is celebrating 50 years in business this year – making it the longest established audio visual company in the UK. Gordon Audio Visual is based at a former Torpedo factory in West London and consists of Audio Visual Hire, Event Production, Media Services and trade distribution of eBeam interactive whiteboard systems.

Read on to find out what sounds have been inspiring the Gordons teams of late…

Boards of Canada : The Campfire Headphase – (Nick Clark – London Office)
Discovered them by accident a year ago and haven’t stopped listening since!

Nicolas Jaar: Time for Us (EP) – (Lewis Judd – London Office)
Interesting for a House music track; has an organic production and sound. You can hear a number of instruments in the track which is unusual for House and you can detect a number of different influences.

Adele: 19 – (Ray Hobbs – Sheffield Office)
It’s just a great album.

Radio 1s Live Lounge – (Andrew Roland – London Office)
I love the idea of artists having to sing live, acoustic even better – and songs they are not familiar with. This gives me goose bumps! The first notable moment is the Arctic Monkeys performing ‘Love Machine’.

Muddy Waters: I’m Ready – (Jethro Gibbons – London Office)
It’s just good!
