About the piece

In SET – Concerto for Tenor Saxophone and Orchestra, the formal rigor of contemporary composition confronts the improvisatory world of the jazz soloist. It was described in the Guardian as ‘…a unique and extremely cool concerto – swinging it until the chains went slack.’
