Sam Genders

Sam Genders is a critically acclaimed songwriter and founder member/co-front man of folktronica pioneers Tunng, a band he formed with Mike Lindsay in 2005 and with whom he released 3 albums, becoming well known for his distinctive vocals, creative lyrical imagery and melodic hooks.

Since leaving Tunng in 2008, Sam has performed as part of The Accidental and more recently under the name Diagrams releasing his widely acclaimed debut album Black Light in 2012.
Sam had this to say about his forthcoming residency in Changsha:

“I’m very happy to have been chosen for the PRS Musicians in Residency China programme 2014 and am hugely grateful for this opportunity. I’m looking forward to making new work, performing live and building up a reservoir of inspiration for future music whilst engaging with local musicians and the wider community as much as possible.”
