We are looking for a new Chair to lead our Board of Trustees

We are seeking a new Chair who will work with the Chief Executive and Board to steer our pioneering Foundation through its 20th Anniversary in 2020, as we seeks to innovate and extend our UK and international impact.

During this exciting phase in the Foundation’s development we would like a Chair who opens doors to new contacts from across the public and private sectors, encourages the Foundation’s entrepreneurial spirit and increases our influence on relevant government and other funding policies.

As Chair, the successful candidate will be leading a Board of up to 15 Trustees and maintaining good governance in accordance with Charity Commission law. They will also be helping PRS Foundation to maintain a strong working relationship with their key stakeholders, including PRS and PPL (collecting societies for songwriters, composers and performers) and other industry / public sector partners.

The Chair will serve a three-year term, with the possibility to extend the term of office for a further three years. Ideally, the candidate will join the board in early 2019, taking up the position of Chair by June 2019, after a handover period with the current Chair.

Person specification

The new Chair will have a passion for talent development and new music but is not necessarily expected to have professional experience in these sectors. All Trustees are invited to attend music events funded by the Foundation, providing opportunities to network, learn about and enjoy a wide variety of music genres.
