ALT BLK ERA: POWER UP Music Creator

Hey! We’re Nyrobi & Chaya of ALT BLK ERA, an alternative sister duo from Nottingham. We started out posting R&B covers on YouTube videos at the beginning of the pandemic but after I (Nyrobi) became ill we started taking things more seriously and discovered our own sound. We now create Rock music but we love to mix it up with dashes of Rap, DnB, Metal, Indie, Electronic and Operatic Sounds.  In just two years of releasing music we’ve been fortunate enough to have played, and be booked for Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, Download, Boomtown & 2000 Trees. It feels like we’ve reached a significant milestone in our career after securing a MOBO and Heavy Music Award nomination whilst working towards the release of our debut album.

The support of the PRS Power Up fund and the Power Up partners, allows us to tour the UK as the skilled professionals that we strive to be. It brings us peace of mind that we can plan a tour without the worry of covering costs and being able to tap into a Power Up network of peers and industry professionals is an added bonus. Through this tour we want to ensure that Black voices in rock are amplified alongside female, disabled and other marginalised artists and backstage crew.  We are all about community so if you like what we’re about – come and connect with us. Tell us you’ve just finished reading this – we would love to hear from you! 🖤 🖤
