Jumi Akinfenwa: POWER UP Industry Professionals

Jumi Akinfenwa is a London-based music supervisor and writer. She has worked on a variety of projects across film and TV including ‘The Kitchen’ with Daniel Kaluuya and Kibwe Tavares, Amazon Prime Video’s ‘Fifteen Love’ and Netflix’s ‘Break Point’, as well as music supervising ad campaigns for brands including Ikea, Zara and Nike. She currently sits on the D&I Committee for the UK and European Guild of Music Supervisors.

She is also an award-winning writer, with bylines in publications such as The Guardian, VICE and gal-dem. In 2020, she was listed as one of MHP’s 30 to Watch, PITCH Magazine’s Superpeople and shesaidso’s Black British Women Making Music Moves. She is currently working on her first book. Jumi is an experienced public speaker, appearing at events such as Lost Village Festival and Reeperbahn Festival, as well as on podcasts and radio stations including Switched On Pop and Worldwide.FM.
