Jelani Brown / JB Wassifa: POWER UP Industry Professionals

I am a dynamic professional, with a passion for DJing, event management, promoting events, marketing and lecturing. I have electrified audiences at iconic UK venues like Wembley Arena, The Indigo O2, and The Symphony Hall Birmingham, sharing the stage with industry luminaries such as Sean Paul, Busta Rhymes, Ne-Yo, Beenie Man, Skeng, Valiant, Julian Marley, Jimmy Cliff, Dru Hill, Jagged Edge and SWV. My UK tours with Beres Hammond, Morgan Heritage, and Rick Ross have cemented my reputation for seamlessly fusing music genres and captivating audiences.

Born into Birmingham’s renowned Wassifa Sound system, I continue this legacy by presenting on Galaxy Birmingham (now Capital Birmingham) for six years. I’ve hosted the TV show “Reaching Out” on Big Centre TV (now Birmingham TV) and provided feature mixes for BBC 1Xtra and Metro Newspaper.

As a business lecturer at South & City College Birmingham, I offer valuable insights into business, event management, media, and marketing, focusing on empowering young creatives and unheard voices. Recognised for my contributions, I was honored with the Entrepreneur of the Year award by Pheonix Newspaper, highlighting my dedication to business excellence and community development.
