Quickbeam are a Scottish Atmospheric band based in Glasgow. Formed in2010 by Monika Gromek and Andrew Thomson, the band have since grownin numbers and refined their sound over the last couple of years. Quickbeamhave since sparked the interest of Steve Lamacq and BBC Six Music, alongside coverage on Introducing in Scotland and Radio One.

Their debut single ‘Seven Hundred Birds’ which was released in April 2012,accentuates the band’s rich, luxurious sound with harmonium, cello, viola, double bass and percussion creating a melancholic warmth further enrichedby the dream-like harmonies headed up by Monika’s ethereal, lusciousvocals. With lines like “…through the land where their shadows graced thenorthern plains”, this accomplished debut single pulls at the heartstringsmuch like heavyweights in their field Low and Sigur Rós, making Quickbeama must listen for fans of the genre. The track was received with much
critical acclaim and was chosen by The Scotsman as their single of the
month. The band have recently been awarded funding from Creative Scotland
and PRSF.
