GAIKA’s The Spectacular Empire continues Nine Nights, a streaming series celebrating black culture
Tonight’s event, featuring Tash LC, Mista Silva and more, is raising money for Justice 4 Grenfell and Emergency Release Fund.
The second edition of Nine Nights, the streaming series hosted by GAIKA‘s The Spectacular Empire collective, is taking place tonight, Thursday, June 11th.
The nine-part programme, which launched last week, was set up to celebrate black culture and raise money for black causes. All the money from tonight’s event will be split evenly between the staff and two organisations: Justice 4 Grenfell and New York’s Emergency Release Fund.
The stream is starting at 9 PM BST, with performances from the likes of NTS resident Lil C, Radio 1 Xtra’s Tash LC, Afrobeats artist Mista Silva and soul singer Azekel, who has collaborated with Massive Attack.
Curated by GAIKA, GLOR1A and Shannen SP, Nine Nights is running across the summer, with three events each in June, July and August.
