Baby People: Talent Development Partner 2022-23
Urban Groove
A fun and engaging project for artists to be launched by Baby People. With activities emphasising the personal development of the artists, Baby People will put the main focus on their professional development. This will lead to an opportunity of peer-to-peer networking opportunities and a lack of opportunities for artists to perform in order for them to secure more live work nationally. Four development showcases will allow artists to hone their skills and collaborate and connect with other artists in the region. Whilst the artists Baby People typically work with have a lot of experience and talent in their specific craft (producer, mc, singer, etc), they often tend to work in isolation which prevents them from exploring other avenues into the creative process.
The camps would allow peer-to-peer learning to share writing and music composing processes. The focus will not be on the outputs of the sessions but on the processes, looking at top-line writing, hooks, and writing and composing starting processes. These camps will be for both artists on our TDN and other artists that can benefit. In this professional exchange between artists, they will learn how to perform, engage with other peers, interact in professional settings as well as develop interpersonal relationships that will lead to maintaining useful industry connections.
