Bidston Observatory Artistic Research Centre: The Open Fund for Organisations

Bidston Observatory Artistic Research Centre (BOARC) is a not-for-profit study site that focuses on providing individual users and groups with a low cost, temporary place to dictate their own methods of work. It is a site for research and experimentation, primarily directed towards cultural production and supporting the development of communities. BOARC also hosts seminars, events and workshops and is open to a range of academic and non-academic discourses; we welcome a diversity of fields and is a forum where different types of knowledge can be tested, shared and extended. The Annual General Exchange (AGE) is an annual event where we make an invitation for practitioners to come, stay and work together. Artists, philosophers, academics and musicians come to the Observatory for a period of around seven days, share work and benefit from feedback, attention and testing. This year the proposition is sonic agency, examining the experience of listening and being heard.
