A BMus Hons Composition graduate from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance, Cassie Kinoshi is an Ivors Academy Award winning (formerly know as BASCA, British Composer Award) London-based composer, arranger and alto-saxophonist.
Cassie Kinoshi’s SEED Ensemble received support through The Open Fund in 2017 for the recording and launch of debut album Driftglass on Jazz re:freshed”
“The most successful aspect of recording ‘Driftglass’ was being given the opportunity to bring together a plethora of hard-working and talented musicians/creatives to record my compositional project. The funding allowed me to pay every member of the ensemble an appropriate fee and have time to record each composition in a high-quality studio.” Cassie Kinoshi
“Without PRS Foundation support, this album would have struggled to come to light. With a 10 piece ensemble, the cost to move this project forward could be unattractive to many. Jazz re:freshed could help achieve this goal only with additional support of an organisation like PRS Foundation.” Yvette Griffith, Jazz re:freshed
