Caswell: The Open Fund for Music Creators
Caswell – EP Recording & Release
With a voice described by Wonderland Magazine as “stunningly soulful, hypnotising and brooding” and a live performance which triumphed over 600+ acts in a nationwide competition to support Ed Sheeran on his Divide world tour; Caswell is without doubt one of the most exciting and dynamic live acts of the moment. Crafting a flavour of alt-pop, neo-soul and downtempo electronica she hails from East Anglia, and alongside strong backing from BBC Introducing in Suffolk has snapped up slots at Reading, Leeds and Latitude Festivals and as well as support from BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 1Xtra and BBC 6 Music.
This Open Fund for Music Creators will assist Caswell in the recording and release of her third EP as an independent artist. Looking to support studio time, musician fees for recording and live work as well as mixing and mastering engineer costs, this 4-track EP will navigate themes from the witch trails to forgotten women in film, exploring and amplifying female stories that have typically been overlooked. The fund will also support promotion around the release and enable Caswell to facilitate a recorded launch of the project in her home county of Suffolk, culminating in a live-visual EP.
