Alternative soul singer/ songwriter China Bowls combines poetic and insightful lyricism with percussive guitar tones and soaring melodies to conjure a sound rich in feeling.
Storytelling is at the heart of Bowl’s music and her warm conversational vocal guides the listener through intricate narratives exploring subjects including insomnia, gaslighting and the policing of female sexuality.
Her recent EP First Light, combines her signature soulful vocal with a broader spectrum of influences, with nods to neo soul, jazz and folk and indie and she is currently working on her next body of work, funded by PRS Women make Music.
China will use her Women make Music funding to cover record, mix and master her exciting new EP, working with session musicians and producers to develop her sound.
