CDR – In The Room with Nyamekye Junction

CDR will host a unique writing and recording camp at The Room Studios in Lewisham, bringing together a diverse group of outstanding UK music creators and guiding them through a creative exchange with each other and an innovative Ghanaian band – Nyamekye Junction. The camp will be fully-immersive for the artists, held over 4 intensive days in August and culminating in a live performance.

Tony Nwachukwu from CDR says: “Cultural exchanges are out of reach for most artists as they so often require big budgets and sending people out of the country, which is even more difficult than ever post Covid. But this is a really unique chance to foster an international collaboration for grassroots artists here in London, which is why I’m so excited by it.”

About CDR: CDR is a black-led music and talent development organisation with a deep heritage in the UK’s grassroots electronic music scene. We are a community made up of generations of music producers, practitioners and fans. Our purpose is to nurture independent music makers and progress black electronic music across many genres: from Hip-hop to Brokenbeat, Techno to Jazz, Garage to Grime and the many fusions in between. We work with children and young people in schools and youth centres, as well as the older heads in clubs and venues. London based with an increasing national & international footprint, we’re operating in towns and cities around the country and the world, from Bristol to Nairobi.
