Debut Opera

Daniel Kidane stands at the forefront of young British composers, bringing fresh ears and raw talent to the contemporary music scene. His music has been performed extensively across the UK and abroad as well as being broadcast on BBC Radio 3, performed multiple times at the BBC Proms, including the Last Night of The Proms. Described by the Financial Times as ‘quietly impressive’ and by The Times as ‘tautly constructed’ and ’vibrantly imagined’.

Most recently Daniel’s latest orchestral work ‘Sun Poem’ was premiered by the London Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Sir Simon Rattle, and toured across UK and Europe. The work received critical acclaim, garnering four and five star reviews from The Times and The Telegraph. The work was toured to: Usher Hall as part of the Edinburgh International Festival, Vienna Grafenegg Festival, Berlin’s Musikfest Berlin (at the Berlin Philharmonie), Lucerne Festival, Philharmonie Luxemburg and London’s Barbican Hall. The American premiere of ‘Sun Poem’ was given by the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen. The work has also travelled to Australia, where it was performed at the iconic Sydney Opera House.
