Dea Matrona: International Showcase Fund (ESNS)

Dea Matrona was formed in 2018 by school friends Mollie McGinn and Orlaith Forsythe. The wave of support started through the band’s viral busking videos with over 7 million views on YouTube. They have performed at festivals such as Reading & Leeds, Electric Picnic, Rock Werchter and Belsonic and in May 2022 supported Eagles of Death Metal on their European Tour. The band have had 2 singles reach No.1 on the U.K iTunes Rock Charts with Clash Magazine describing their latest single as “pastoral lyricism blended to some gorgeous musicality.“

The support that the PRS Foundation has given Dea Matrona has enabled them to travel to ESNS for the first time, which will mark their debut performance in The Netherlands. The opportunity to perform at ESNS is instrumental in furthering the band’s career and to showcase to the wider music industry in Europe and further afield. The band are excited to play at the festival for the first time and hope that they are able to come back with their own tour in the near future.
