Freya Dooley: Women Make Music

Freya Dooley is a visual artist and sound designer. Her multi-disciplinary practice encompasses sound, moving-image, performance, and writing, fed by diverse cinematic, literary and musical references. Her layered and immersive compositions weave together electronics, voice and instrumentation to form intimate connections between divergent subjects.

False Note

Freya has exhibited nationally and internationally. Since her 2021 Creative Wales-BSR Fellowship at The British School at Rome, Freya’s research has been rooted in experimental post-production and sonic artifice in Italian and European cinema. Her solo exhibition ‘False Note’ opens at Site Gallery, Sheffield in 2024, supported by an Artes Mundi Wales Venice 10 Commission.
