Girlhood: Momentum
Girlhood are Tessa Cavanna and Christian Pinchbeck, a meeting of disparate musical minds drawing inspiration from the varied sounds on which they grew up. Taking cues from Fugees, late 80’s hip hop, 90’s neo soul plus the cut and paste aesthetic of artists like The Avalanches, the pair use Christian’s narrowboat – still docked on a London canal – to write, record and produce their music, bringing a distinctly British setting to their worldly and diverse range of influences.
Their debut album was released in October 2020 to much critical acclaim via their own label Team Talk Records. The funding will help them create their next collection of songs.
