Ishmael Ensemble: PPL Momentum Music Fund

Helmed by producer and saxophonist Pete Cunningham, Ishmael Ensemble’s music straddles the worlds of electronica and jazz. Originally started in 2017 as a bedroom project by recording mates in and around the Bristol scene, the collective began flying the flag for the South West in the UK Jazz explosion of the late 2010’s. Following the success of their 2nd album “Visions Of Light” the band went on to perform around the world with appearances at SXSW in Texas, the New York Winter Jazz Festival, multiple UK & EU tours & a triumphant finale on Glastonbury Festival’s West Holts stage. Since then the group have been hard at work finishing their 3rd album set for release in 2024, funded in part by the PPL Momentum grant.
