Jenna Donnelly: The Hitmaker Fund
Jenna is a platinum-selling composer, songwriter, producer and performer signed to publisher Galactic Music Ltd. She is also a member of songwriting and production team Audiofreaks.
Beginning her music training in piano, cello and voice, Jenna has been writing and producing commercially-released works for over a decade. She has written for, or performed as an artist on, major label releases (Sony, Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group) and writes and produces for primetime TV shows (ITV, The Big Reunion, Saturday Night Takeaway). Her successes include two #1 albums in Japan with superstar Namie Amuro (with tracks ‘Fashionista’ and ‘Just You And I’) and US Billboard #1 hit ‘Let The World Be Ours Tonight’ by Deborah Cox. Jenna was also thrilled to be part of the biggest-selling live DVD/Blu-ray in Japanese pop music history, ‘Finally’ by Namie Amuro. She topped the Spanish iTunes chart with Rosa Lopez’s ‘Ahora Se Quien Soy’ and has had numerous cuts in the East Asian pop markets, including tracks for artists like Lee Jong-Hyun (CNBLUE), Lead and Jamosa. More recently, Jenna co-wrote ‘Breaking The Dawn’ for Kis-My-Ft2’s Live Tour DVD, selling over 300,000 copies.
As well as her work in pop music, Jenna is one half of musical-theatre writing duo Donnelly & Maltby, who have enjoyed numerous touring shows across the UK and Europe. Their most recent show, ‘The Battle of Boat’, was premiered by the National Youth Music Theatre to great critical review.
The PRS Foundation Hitmaker Fund will be supporting Jenna with childcare for her young daughter so she can continue to write hits for artists across the globe and develop her music career. Jenna is incredibly proud that the Foundation has chosen to support her as a working musician and mother, and believes this is a testament to the variety of projects that the Fund assists.
