Joss Arnott Dance: The Open Fund for Organisations

Joss Arnott Dance’s (JAD) distinctive and accessible blend of classical contemporary dance and live music experiences tours nationally to diverse venues and spaces. Led by Artistic Director Joss Arnott – our process is collaborative, continuously pushing the boundaries and interplay between choreography and music, in how it’s developed, integrated, influenced and presented to audiences.

With a key emphasis on commissioning new music, we explore a range of processes and practices that incorporates music into the composition, development and creation of new productions for a range of audiences from project inception. Tin Man continues and expands JAD’s new music & choreography led practice, targeting communities with typically nil or low access to music or dance provision and working alongside dynamic music creator, composer Anna Appleby to create choreographic work in synthesis with new music composition.

JAD will work with music ensemble Psappha and composer Appleby to collaboratively create Tin Man, a new 45minute family dance show with original music score, bold narrative choreography & stunning production design. Lonely & in search of a heart, the Tin Man travels through Oz, now cast dark from the spell of the Wicked Witch. His quest takes him on a journey through the 8 primary emotions creating a family of fellow outsiders along the way
