Kyla La Grange: Women Make Music
Kyla began her career releasing singles through indie label Chess Club before going on to release her debut album, ‘Ashes’ in 2012 through Sony. She followed this with 2014’s ‘Cut Your Teeth’, named after the eponymous single which was remixed by Kygo and has amassed over 130 million streams on Spotify alone. While touring as a vocalist with Faithless for two years, Kyla released standalone singles independently, including 2015’s ‘Skin’, and ‘Hummingbird’ in 2016.
Her third record will be her first release in over three years, and is, she says, some of her most raw and unflinching work yet: ‘a rollercoaster of emotions that I wasn’t really ready to write about before.’ Kyla La Grange’s third album is an alt-pop, self-reflective record that focuses on the anxiety of wanting to have lived a good life, and what we chalk up as success and failure, through the lens of childhood and youth.
