Lauren Housley: PPL Momentum

Lauren Housley Recording & Live Videos

Lauren Housley is currently riding the wave of her recently released, independent album, Girl From The North. Released during the pandemic (April 2021), and recorded in a basement studio in Lauren’s hometown of Rotherham, that she built with her long-time collaborator, Thomas Dibb – the album has set Lauren’s career on an exciting path. The album made #4 in the Official UK Country Charts, #8 in the Official UK Americana Chart and #15 in the UK Official Folk Chart, as well as receiving huge support from specialist radio, including support from Bob Harris, Robert Elms and Ralph Mclean, and rave reviews from national press. Her music has also proved to have a strong commercial appeal, with her latest single, This Ain’t The Life, being selected for BBC Radio 2 play-listing. Lauren kicks off the festival season with a BBC Introducing slot at Tramlines, in the city where she is now based – Sheffield, South Yorkshire. Known for her empowering live performances and working with some of the most talented musicians in the UK, she will be hitting the road this winter to promote her Girl From The North record.
It is with huge thanks to the PPL Momentum funding that Lauren will also be heading back into the studio with her 8-piece live band to film and record songs and arrangements that were left behind as a result of the restrictions put in place at the start of the pandemic.
