Mama Terra: International Showcase Fund (SXSW 2024)

International Showcase at SXSW 2024, Austin, Texas

Hotly tipped by JazzFM, new Acid Jazz signing Mama Terra is the brainchild of Glaswegian pianist and composer Marco Cafolla. The new Scottish Jazz/Soul ensemble from the minds of Cafolla & Wiszniewski, draws from an inner journey of discovery, it’s a Jazz/Spiritual/Soul roots based record.

Debut single ‘Ruptura’, & debut album ‘The Summoned, both went straight in at number one on the ITunes Jazz charts, playlisted for 8 consecutive months and single ‘A Mind Supreme’ was track of the week on Jazz FM (along with ‘The Summoned’ being album of the week on release also). ‘Mama Terra’ launched their new album at the world famous Ronnie Scott’s in London to a sold out room & received a standing ovation, as well as recording live for JAZZ FM’s classic album series, playing Herbie Hancock’s ‘Headhunters’ album arranged for them in the Mama Terra sound.

‘Mama Terra’ head to SXSW 2024 in March, where they have been invited to perform at the International showcase. The band’s attendance at SXSW in Austin, Texas is made possible from receiving the International Showcase Fund from PRS Foundation that will help the huge financial costs associated with International Showcasing (including travel & accommodation). 2024 already promises to be an exciting and engaging year for ‘Mama Terra’ performing at throughout the UK & Internationally.
