Melin Melyn
Melin Melyn are quickly becoming one of the most talked about names in this next golden generation of Welsh artists. Having released two EPs in 2021’s “Blomonj” and 2022’s ‘Happy Gathering’ the six piece will already be familiar to avid festival goers across the UK, with their name (which translates to Yellow Mill in English) rapidly rising up billings due to their already critically acclaimed live shows. The band were highlighted by The Independent and NME at the start of 2021 as one of the must-watch acts this year), and have been hailed by The Guardian & NME for their incredible live performances at Green Man & End Of The Road to name but a few festivals.
Having an extensive list of long term supporters such as Marc Riley and Cerys Matthews at BBC 6 Music, as well as a smorgasbord of UK and international press (NME, So Young, The Line Of Best Fit, DIY, Dork, The Independent, NPR and more). It also saw the band pick up their first award: the Triskel Award at the Welsh Music Prize (previous winners include Adwaith & Deyah). “Happy Gathering” further propelled the band, and saw the band embark on their first sold headline tour, selling out multiple dates across England and Wales. With their debut album now on the horizon, Melin Melyn are set to cement their place as one of Wales’ most interesting musical exports in recent time.
