No Bounds Festival 2021: UK New And Rising

Mixed In Sheffield Projects LTD are excited to be receiving this fund to help them deliver some key shows for UK artists at the festival under our UK New And Rising strand.
They work with artists at early stage career points as well as critical mid career stages to help them realise their creative visions, progress their careers and gain new experience in front of our open and inquisitive audiences.

The lead commission this year is for Rian Treanor who is creating a new live show, in collaboration with visual artist, choreographer/director Leila Ziu exploring connections between sound, light, costume and physical movement. Extending the collaboration started during lockdown which culminated in a video presented on FACT in May 2021 featuring world leading costume designer Kate Tabor and dancer Mikey Boats.

This project needed extra time and resources to realise. rehearsals, the ability to work with a dancer and a choreographer as well as making sure technically the piece is presented to the best standard was essential and made possible by this fund. Mixed In Sheffield Projects LTD also hope that this has seeded this project to be able to go on to other festivals where the artists can keep developing the piece and importantly, continue earning a living by doing something they deeply love in a tough time for us all.

They have also been able to contribute to resources for other artists who really needed just that little bit more to make their shows happen with them in the right way.
