Momentum: Fenne Lily
Being discouraged from watching TV as a child was integral to the development of Fenne Lily’s musicality, as instead much of her time was spent writing songs and honing both instrumental and lyrical skill. Her folk-tinged music is woven with integrity and sincerity; grit and soft understatement in equal measures.
At the age of 17 she began travelling to Bristol from her home in Dorset, and within a year found herself supporting the likes of Marika Hackman, KT Tunstall, C Duncan, Eaves and Palace, among many more; touring the UK twice with rising NZ star Marlon Williams. Her first show at the Great Escape was so popular it saw people queuing outside the door, unable to get in; and more recently she’s toured Europe with Charlie Cunningham and appeared at a number of festivals across the continent.
Fenne, now 20, has moved to Bristol and been quickly embraced into the local music scene. Her first singles ‘Top to Toe’, ‘Bud’ & ‘What’s Good’ were produced by her friend Dave Dixon (aka Tamu Massif) at his home and loved worldwide, with over 20 million streams to date, demonstrating the raw power of her voice and her songwriting.
In October 2017, Fenne will be taking to the road with her friends Sivu, Siv Jakobsen & Paul Thomas Saunders, for a joint tour of the UK and currently she’s recording her debut album, for release in early 2018.
