Rachael Dadd: Momentum

Living half her time as a travelling musician in Japan, witnessing how other people create things, connecting with other cultures and landscapes; all this is a furnace for innovative song writing.

Contemporary folk multi-instrumentalist Rachael Dadd is on a strong path with so much interest and support from DJs, tastemakers and her contemporaries. She has been gaining the reputation as a pioneering and thought provoking artist unafraid to push the boundaries of folk and pop.

The momentum fund will allow Rachael to tour the UK in January/February and May 2020, playing 15 full band shows to support the release of her new album ‘Flux’ out in November on Memphis Industries.

Since her highly acclaimed release We Resonate in 2014 she has developed her sound and expanded her band to include drummer Rob Pemberton (Low Chimes, Emily Barker) and bassist Alex Heane (Wise Children Theatre Company), to join longtime members Marcus Hamblett (Villagers, James Holden) and Emma Gatrill (This is the Kit).

Touring the expanded live set up will help to launch her new album at an appropriate scale in a way that reflects the passion and finesse of ‘Flux’, and with the added magic of what can happen between audiences and performers when its live.
