“Headspace in the City” will be composed by Nigel Osborne working closely with Clarence Adoo and the Headspace Ensemble. The piece will last around 45 minutes and the current thought is that it will be a diptych – one part focusing on the four professional artists of the Headspace Ensemble, the other using the more expanded forces of the Headspace Ensemble joined by the Guildhall School Brass Ensemble (coached by John Kenny, Headspace Ensemble trombonist). Headspace Ensemble consists of trumpet, trombone, sound projection and Headspace, a highly sophisticated and powerful electronic musical instrument, controlled by subtle movements of the player’s head coupled with small, but delicate and precise air column, as in a wind instrument.
