NikNak: Women Make Music

NikNak, an artist well-known for her creative and boundary-breaking work, has gained worldwide recognition with her unusual albums, remixes, and engaging performances. In 2020, she made history as the first Black Turntablist to receive the prestigious Oram Award. Not limited to any one genre or role, NikNak excels in composing, sound design, DJing, and electronic arts. With multiple releases, collaborations, and live shows, NikNak stands out in the music industry for her unique style. Featured in various publications as a rising star, NikNak continues to advance the boundaries of sound innovation with her complex turntablism and spatial music production.

“Ireti” – NikNak’s 4th album

My next album is the first time I’ve had the great pleasure of recording fellow musicians (and nerds) on my music, all of whom did incredibly amazing work! The support from WMM and PRS means I’ll be able to complete my next album to its fullest potential with PR support and perform it on a 7 date tour around the UK in 2024 with local workshops on music production/DJing for less represented communities in electronic music production! More details to come as the album hasn’t been announced yet but I’m super excited and thankful for the support!
