MusicSeen

Nina, originally from Munich, is a musician, researcher, and project manager based in Liverpool. She began her creative journey studying bass and vocals at LIPA before pursuing an MA in Music Industry Studies and now a PhD focusing on Gender Equality in the German Music Industry at the University of Liverpool. A seasoned bassist and performer, Nina has toured internationally, signed record deals.
Committed to gender equality she hosts “Plattenschatz im Schattenplatz”, a radio show turned podcast, highlighting projects striving for gender equity in music.

In 2023 she co-founded MusicSeen with Connor Di Leo, to create the ‘Yellow Pages’ of the local music industry and to spotlight Liverpool’s musical talent. The website hosts playlist of new music, a database of over 2000 local musicians, an industry professionals database, events listings and key locations. As part of this project they release a yearly list of over 500 local women and gender expansive artists in Liverpool, to enable bookers to achieve more gender balanced line ups.
