Nuha Ruby Ra: ISF (SXSW)
Nuha Ruby Ra released her debut EP in March 2021, via Brace Yourself Records, to great success. The singles and EP have received some great support from key tastemakers including Lauren Laverne (“I absolutely love this”) and Iggy Pop at BBC 6 Music, and have also picked up features and coverage in NME, The Guardian (print), DIY, So Young, Clash and more. The singles have all appeared on numerous editorial Spotify playlists which has helped grow Nuha’s followers on that platform, and last summer she won the Green Man Rising competition, where Nuha was chosen from over 1300 entries.
The International Showcase Fund will allow Nuha to take her art to a new audience. As well as showcasing her to a new audience, we will be actively engaging new international partners. We are having conversations with US booking agents, and SXSW and New Colossus will offer a great chance for these people to see her live.
