Fran Lobo: Brave EP Marketing Campaign

Fran Lobo is a singer, songwriter, producer, choral composer and sound artist from North East London. Her work is centred around the importance of having a voice. This generous funding will go towards the marketing of her next EP.

Her work has spanned EP releases, sound art installations and video work. Most recently, her latest immersive multi-channel choral installation ‘Voicescolourmotion’ was shown at the V&A Late and received rave reviews from The Guardian and Gal Dem zine. It was funded by the Arts Council.

She collaborates and tours with the bands Deep Throat Choir and UNKLE (James Lavelle). This has taken her around the world as an arranger and performer.

“With a voice like Nina Simone on Plain Gold Ring and a theatrical ambition like Bjork.” (CRACK Magazine)

“Grimes inspired Fran Lobo to push the limits of pop but her sound is all her own” (The FADER)

“A heady mix of The Eurythmics, Amy Winehouse and Brandy” (NME)

“FRAN LOBO is one of a kind. The London-based singer songwriter is currently carving out a niche of her own, creating music that all at once manages to be ethereal, empowering and perfect for a sing-along, and conjuring up comparisons to artists as diverse as PJ Harvey, Grimes and Rage Against the Machine.” (DAZED)

“Written and recorded in the span of 30 minutes, and featuring additional production and mixing by Massive Attack collaborator and mixing engineer Bruno Ellingham, “High” is a seductive nightmare of R&B vocals colliding with industrial beats.” (Highsnobiety)
