Counterflows: The Open Fund for Organisations

Counterflows is a Glasgow-based contemporary music festival dedicated to myriad forms of unusual music today. The festival aims to establish an inclusive, non-hierarchal and celebratory space for radical expression. For the eighth edition Counterflows will be working with over 35 artists from around the world and importantly from the UK. Developing and supporting new works from the following UK based artists: Alexander Hawkins (with Tomeka Reid & Nicole Mitchell), Sholto Dobie, Katz Mulk (A Beyond Borders Commission), Bill Wells, Laurie Pitt’s Ghana Project, Ailie Ormston and Tim Fraser, The Hairdresser, all UK artists.  Counterflows will also be developing new work by international artists on various projects e.g. DJs Jim C Nedd & Palm Wine from Columbia.

Through live events, clubs, discussions, film-screenings and hang-outs – woven through some of the best spaces in Glasgow – Counterflows aims to enact a human flow and provide an inclusive fun space to engage with important marginal music.
