Rambert Music Fellowship: The Open Fund for Organisations
For:
Rambert Music Fellowship
Rambert is Britain’s national dance company. As the only large-scale contemporary dance company to perform accompanied by live music at every UK performance and a major commissioner of new music for dance work, we are a powerful force for new music creation; bringing contemporary music to new audiences and fostering collaboration between composers, choreographers and
dancers. The Rambert Music Fellowship is central to this commitment, enabling an early-career composer to develop specialist understanding of producing music for dance through spending one year in residence at Rambert.
The Fellowship is awarded to a composer who has demonstrated significant potential to create music of the highest quality and will utilize the year to achieve a step-change in their practice. In 2016/17, a sixth composer will succeed Gavin Higgins, Mark Bowden, Cheryl Frances-Hoad, Kate Whitley and Quinta as Rambert Music Fellow. Former Fellows’ years in residence have seen them collaborating across the company and engaging in a wide range of commissions, performances, recordings and projects, to reach the diverse audiences engaging with Rambert across our programme of activity.
