Since 1996 Partisans have been thrilling audiences with their energetic performances of original compositions of tightly knit themes and groove-based sound, bridging the gap between New York swing, European improv and UK jam band. The band released their fourth album ‘By Proxy’ in 2009 to widespread critical acclaim: “Partisans’ long expected masterpiece, ‘By Proxy’ is one of the most exciting albums to be released on either side of the Atlantic in 2009” Allaboutjazz

Partisans have played at the major UK jazz festivals of Brecon, London Jazz Festival, Bath, Cheltenham, plus live broadcasts on BBC Jazz-on-3 and Jazz-Line-up. In 2010 the band performed at Banlieues Bleues Festival in Paris and Berlin Jazz Festival. Receiving the PRSF award made it possible for Partisans to perform at the 2011 Jazzahead European Jazz Meeting showcase in Bremen. This was a great opportunity to present Partisans’ dynamic live performance to the cream of European and international promoters and press, also broadcast on WDR 3 Jazz Radio.
