Presteigne Festival of Music and the Arts: The Open Fund For Organisations

2023 Presteigne Festival – supporting contemporary British composers and their music

Established 41 years ago in the former county town of Radnorshire, the Presteigne Festival has become a focal-point for those seeking musical innovation and artistic discovery amidst the beauty of the Welsh Marches.

Internationally renowned for its commissioning of new work, support of living composers and with a long tradition for the encouragement of talented young artists, the organisation works closely with composers and performers to create and curate inspiring events for an ever-widening Festival audience and brings experience-broadening opportunities to its host community.

The Presteigne Festival takes place each August, with several music-filled days spanning the Bank Holiday weekend. Well-known for presenting a carefully balanced combination of new music, twentieth-century classics and masterpieces from the standard repertoire, the Festival also continues to develop a wide-ranging programme of accompanying events, featuring film, literature, exhibitions and the popular Presteigne ‘Open Studios’ weekend.
