Rebecca Mulhern: Women Make Music

RUÁ’s (A.K.A Rebecca Mulhern) genre-bending music takes inspiration from world and folk music right across to spoken word and sound collage. As a multi-disciplinary artist and multi-instrumentalist, their music seems to be ever-evolving, guided by a love for experimentation. Known for their lyrical guitar lines paired with intimate lyrics sung by a velvety alto voice, RUÁ’s honest, stripped-back songs take you to a homely, firelit backroom of some other place and time. Recent shows have evolved and taken on a theatrical tone with a focus on storytelling, celebrating the fun side of music-making using spoken word, sound effects and movement.

Supporting RUÁ’s debut EP as well as debut UK tour.

RUÁ (f.k.a Rebecca Mulhern) will use their Women Make Music’s fund to tour their debut EP around the UK. The EP has been meticulously refined over the past two years, gathering the perfect collaborators and waiting for the right moment to be able to give it the push it deserves. Thanks to PRS, the project will go ahead, and artistic vision realised – with beautiful accompanying music videos and thoughtful live shows in several cities around the UK and IRL, including in Derry, Belfast, Kilkenny and Norwich. Follow @thisisrua on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and SoundCloud for tour / release updates.
