Sola fuses her love for R&B and jazz with ambient electronics to create a hypnotic blend she calls “warped soul.”
The self-produced and classically trained musician released her debut project, ‘Wealth Has Come’ in 2018. Its follow-up, ‘Mami Wata’ was released last October and explores the divine power of the deity which shares the same name.
Having played piano since the tender age of 6, it wasn’t until she discovered the raw vocals of Nina Simone that she grew the confidence to start singing.
The London-based musician moved to New York aged 18 to attend New York University, and it was here that she began DJing and producing her own music, inspired by the soundscapes of Portishead and Burial.
