On her diverse and bold debut and sophomore EPs, South London based Sophie May combines mature songwriting capabilities with her astute lyrical vulnerability and deft turn of phrase that has won over fans across the internet and beyond.
The releases have received a swell of support at national press from the likes of The Sunday Times Culture (where she was crowned a ‘Breaking Act’), The Observer (who dubbed her a ‘One to watch’), NME (where she featured as a ‘First On’ artist, drawing comparisons to classic songwriters like Joni Mitchell and Carole King, and modern talents like Sam Fender and Wet Leg), The FADER, Bricks Magazine, Hunger Magazine, Spindle Magazine, The Line Of Best Fit, Dork, and more.
This funding will help support the recording and production process for Sophie during the third EP campaign, as well as digital marketing and touring costs around the independently distributed release to help grow her already engaged audience.
