St John Sessions series has been acknowledged as “the best musical initiative going in London” (Crack Magazine). Having previously curated live music performances from the likes of Nils Frahm, Grouper and Julia Holter in the unique setting of the St John at Hackney Church, the series has already set a precedent of innovative and fully immersive contemporary music as the core concept. Music that is rarely programmed elsewhere, even within the often crowded live music events scene in London, is given a unique showcase and impact by contrast to the dramatic church venue setting.

Following the receipt of PRSF Open Funding, the series will take a new approach in the angle of never-seen-before bespoke collaborative performances. This autumn will see innovative sounds and soundscapes pushing new boundaries with bespoke collaborations as part of a new twist on the series, ‘A Clash of Musical Worlds’, that will be all the more striking in the unique venue setting. The new angle will be hugely beneficial to the development and recognition of all artists involved, and inspiring for the audience.
