Disciples music and sound commission

Stellar Quines uses theatre as a creative, social and political force to work towards greater gender equity in Scotland and beyond. We do this by creating spaces onstage, backstage and in the community, for those who experience inequalities to share their stories, create inclusive collaborations and take positive action.

The project that PRS are generously supporting is Disciples, a brand-new theatre show created by an incredible group of women and non-binary people. Together they bring the stories of their bodies to life in bold, honest and surprising ways using movement, words and original music. Prioritising D/deaf and disabled women and non-binary people both in the cast and creative team, the show explores stories and bodies that are often ignored or marginalised. Accessibility for both artists and audiences is at the heart of the production.

The production will create a platform for three music creators to showcase their own work and to collaborate in a meaningful way to expand and grow their practice. This includes an original sound design created Niroshini Tambar, live music performed by Sally Clay and an original choral song created by Marie- Gabrielle Koumenda performed by a women’s community choir.
