Trudy and The Romance: International Showcase Fund (SXSW)
Trudy and the Romance are delighted to have been funded this year by the PRS Foundation ISF Grant to attend the notorious and illustrious SXSW 2019 in Austin Texas. Without their funding this would not have been possible.
What does this mean for a band like Trudy and the Romance and specifically for where they are in their career to date. Well.. With an ever growing fan base in the US, a newly acquired US label who will be releasing the debut album in Spring 2019 to coincide with the festival and a host of industry ranging from US agents, global publishers and media as well as fans wanting to see the band for the first time SXSW 2019 will be integral to the bands next steps within North America as well as showcasing to major markets outside of the US too due to SXSW’s global delegate attendees list.
As we will have promotion in the form of online pr and radio as well as paid social happening around the album already, being in the country will open us up to a whole host of other opportunities such as acoustic sessions, radio interviews, DSP (Spotify, Apple, Pandora, Deezer) exclusives and more.
By allowing us to get this foot-hole into North America it will give us a story to progress conversations and relationships onwards and help us fulfil our ambition and plan to get back to make a larger tour of the States in the Autumn / Winter of 2019.
