Thyla: International Showcase Fund (SXSW)

Riding a wave of momentum that shows no signs of stopping anytime soon, Brighton’s latest indie juggernauts Thyla release their debut EP in February 2019, further solidifying their status as one of the UK’s finest emerging indie acts.

Thyla majestically blend glassy distorted guitar tone with driving rhythms and lilting ethereal melodies whilst front woman Millie Duthie brings crystal like beauty to Thyla’s blend of dynamic alt-rock.

Earmarked as one of NME’s 100 Essential Acts for 2018 alongside Dream Wife, Nilüfer Yanya and Pale Waves, the quartet demonstrated their potential, sharing bills with Sunflower Bean, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever and Fickle Friends, as well as encouraging displays at The Great Escape, Live At Leeds and Dot To Dot.

Praise from all corners of the press including Pitchfork, Stereogum and DIY, widespread support on BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music, and recent shows alongside Slaves have only added to the growing excitement surrounding the band heading into what promises to be a busy 2019.
